SO MY IPHONE BROKE!!

Boo everyone! It’s finally the weekend! *Cheers* Well, the whether is horrible here in Perth. Grey and depressing :P

Lets back track to last Sunday. I was all excited, I had made the decision to upgrade to the iPhone 3G S. I put my iPhone on Ebay, and it sold almost instantly for an awesome price! Tuesday morning came… I went to get it all ready to ship! I gathered all of it’s little booklets, cases and cables ready to ship! It was hard to say goodbye!! I have experienced the last year of my life with that little guy. His box has been sitting on my desk and watched me do many many things… I took my sim card out (Meant to be the easiest step)… As I put it back in (I was in a rush!!!) I put the stupid flimsy sim card trap in backwards!!! I tried to eject it, but the stupid thing was jammed.. By this stage I was devastated, and ready to pull out my hair!! I spent the next half an hour working with various fine materials I could use to stick down there to get the sim card holder to loosen up.. All of a sudden I heard a crack. I thought, Oh Dear God… I looked at the phone and the sim card tray was out (I was relieved). Then I looked closer at the sim tray and guess what.. The bottom and left hand side of the stupid tray were no-where to be seen. I looked down the hole of my iPhones sim holder and there the pieces were. All stuck there in a group.. :(

Basically I had to use my Blackberry for Tuesday which was like hell on earth because I could make no phone calls or TXT’s! When I got home I put my sim into an old motorola razr I used to own. It worked but I was click to find that the battery was DEAD. FLAT.OUT. So, I am now using my only other phone that works(?)… But this old baby decides to go to sleep every 10 minutes, so I miss a majority of my txt’s and calls whcih really does suck! Being without an iPhone for this past week(Nearly)Has made me understand just how revolutionary this phone is! I miss it dearly.

On the plus side, Apple are replacing it for me (For free due to there being hairline cracks as well). I am then going to restore my auction on Ebay… This will all happen after the 26th of June (The iPhone release date in AUS) which defeats the purpose of me even selling my iPhone as I intended to use the money from the 3G sale to fund the 3G S. So, my credit card is going to be overdrawn for  a few days.. Oh well! It should all work out in the end :) (Excuse all of the spelling mistakes, it’s late :P )

Sorry for listening to my big vent about something you probably don’t even care about :)

PHOTO BLOG

Boo! I see you hiding behind your computer screen. Well, actually I don’t. Random. Anyway, as most of you following my twitter(@iCarluccio) you’d know that I’ve had essays due, exams and I bought the Sims 3 the other day, so I’ve had no time to update my Flickr! To be honest, the main contributer to this has been the failing of my Hard Drive. :( I am slowly slowly re-peicing everything and my HD is coming back to it’s original shape. The main thing slowing me down is mozy.com (The backup company I had my data stored with). Their download speeds are 46kbs per second. I didn’t make a type, I’m serious. 46kbps. *Dies* Here are some photos that I’ve taken from my Flickr Library. They’re a collaboration of photos from last month and June. To be really honest I’ve taken no more than 100 photos in June. I have been put off by the HD death. I cannot stop saying to the people I meet ‘Backup’. It is worth it!!

Here are the photos! :)

THE PRO’S & CONS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT (TRANSPERTH)

Good evening everyone! It’s been a while since my last post but here I am to say ‘PikkaBoo’ :)

I am not at the required age to drive a car according to the Australian law, but I still need to get around Perth! My only way to do this is using public transport like many others. I often find my self at home, bored and thirsty so I’ll take a look at the Bus schedule on my iPhone (We’ll get to that later) and run down to the bus station. I hop on with my Smart Rider (We’ll get to that later as well) and off I go. :)

Smart Rider:

Do you find your self having to lug around heaps of change when needing to get from one place to another when using public transport? I did, so I learnt about the Smart Rider. The smart rider is a card which is the same size as a debit card and it works just like a debit card. Accept.. It only works with public transport, after you add money to the card. So, when the money runs out on your card you can’t keep spending the money. To use the smart rider, you simply need to swipe the card in front of a scanner and it starts your trip. When you reach your destination you ‘Tag off’ (Swipe the card again) and it calculates the amount of stops you’ve past. It then takes money off of the card.

Le Schedueles

When I’m in a hurry I rarely check the bus schedules I just run down to it, but when I do have time to organize myself I check the schedueles for public transport. To go onto the Transperth website (The Western Australian bus company) is a hassel. For noobs like me you won’t be able to understand the scheduele. I used to call them, which is also annoying because of the waiting period due to the amount of people needing to call, but then I got iPhone. On iPhone there are 2 applications that I use which were downloaded from the App store. The 2 I use are called ‘MetroPerth’ (there is also MetroMelbourne, sydney etc etc) and iTT perth. These tools are both very handy as they give you accurate bus times! ‘Metro’ is a really horrible app. It simply crashes when searching for a bus, train or fairy. So, I turned to iTT perth.

Hassels

I think public transport is average. I really do dislike it and here is my place to vent.

1: The people: Some of the people who ride on public transport freak me out. You get druggies, thiefs, graffiti artists etc etc on the bus, and when someone who you think Isn’t the safest of all people sits next to you, you tend to get a little bit worried. I guess that’s why they call it ‘Public’

2: The Graffiti: The idots that graffiti the buss’ and trains deserve to be punched. They are also called Gaffidiots. They ‘tag’ their name on the windows, seats, roofs ect. Where there is a blank space, they will tag.

3: The loud teenagers: I am a teenager, but I am not like most teenagers. I tend to be more civilized. On the buss they swear, yell, have their headphones on full ball, knock your arm and don’t say ‘sorry’ or ‘excuse me’ and the one that annoys me the most is that they point and laugh if your ‘different’ (Disabled)

So guys, there you have it.. My summary on Public Transport. All I can say, is that I wish there were cars appropriate for young teens, so we don’t have to put up with the other peoples crap! :)

BUSY BUSY BUSY.. Life IS BUSY! WEEEEE

Hey readers! I really hope you are all doing well! :) I have been a very busy little bee! Between studying to socializing, my life has been busy. I have actually been so busy that I have had no time to Twitter! My tweets have been reduced to 5-8 a day.. I know it sounds like a lot, but my life is quite interesting! :P
These past 2 weeks I have been given 4 assignments. 1 is on History, 1 is on Religion, 1 is on Science and the last one is for my media class. Fun fun fun :)

I’m sorry for my lack of updating my blog, and I hope that I don’t loose any readers! :)

WRITING POEMS

Good day world! :)

Many people may think that if you write a story or a poem your a geek. Some ‘bully’ type people think that if you write poems or stories your a ‘pussy’. But I believe that everyone is equal and that everyone has a beautiful heart! I have always had a passion for writing and reading. I was the 1st boy in year 1 to read a full novel. Ever since then I have always been in the extension classes, as reading and writing are two of my favourite things! Poems are very strong. They often express your emotions, and to do that with a pen and a piece of paper it means you are a very strong person. Poems are very sweet but they can also be very sour. Back in 2005 a man used a poem as a death threat.:

Antonio Batista wrote the poem about Pat Saito, a Ward 9 Mississauga councillor, after he received a property tax bill in 2005 meant for a developer and had trouble sorting out the problem. The poem includes the following passage: “We are going to dig a pothole about six feet long and three feet wide and five feet deep to hide her body and God will take care of Her Soul, but We cannot forgive her for doing nothing.” — Taken from thestar.com

Poems also come in a number of different forms! Just to name a few… Haiku poem, Cinquain poem, and the commonly known Acrostic!

I have written a number of Cinquain poems, but my favourite is one I wrote about the colour Orange. (Colour is spelt right!! In Australia that’s how it’s spelt!) I have actually left my book at school, so when I go there tomorrow I’ll be sure to collect it and type it up! :)

APPLE SPAT THE CORE AT MICROSOFT!!

So, you remember my post about Microsoft being ass holes towards Apple, right? Well this week Apple decided to make a few new ‘Get a Mac’ adds. They are relatively humorous, but one is just outstanding! it’s Apple responding to Microsoft. Check it out:

POWER OUTAGE IN PERTH — WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT POWER!?

So this evening while reading the bids on an item I posted for sale, I heard a big bang. Then, my lights went off. Then my Hard drive stopped spinning, then the alarm started beeping. I’ve used then too many times purposely to add an affect for those of you who haven’t caught on! lolerskates :P I have been without power for 2 hours, and it has made me realize how dependent we are on electricity! I have no access to my photo’s, music or video as my external drive is powered by electricity. It is annoying, as I have very few candles. And I only have 1 torch which is the family torch. For the past couple of hours I’ve been walking around with my Macbook pro, acting as a torch. If your ever stuck on torches an awesome thing to use is a DSLR camera (The shooting flash is an awesome light), an iPhone (The screen size is handy) and a Laptop. That’s what I’ve been using :) But, they’re all powered by electricity so that lead me to wonder. What would we do without power?! I mean, we’d be uncivilized!? Maybe not so much now (As we have Solar power) but 20 years ago they’d had nothing. Electricity or candles. it’s sad huh? Have you got any horror stories about power faults? Or, do you have a story to share, OR.. Do you have any words of wisdom? Right now, I’d like to thank Steve Jobs for making awesomely long batteries in Macbook Pro’s! Thanks Steve *Send email* =D

NEW TWITTER APPLICATIONS FOR MAC

I’m a Mac fan. If you haven’t caught on yet, you probably need a serious coffee boost :) I also Love twitter, as it is one of my main feeds for information. Twitter is an awesome website that lets you communicate with friends in a different way to Facebook or Myspace. You only type updates that are 140 characters. You can even upload pictures and your current location. It is awesome. So, we’ve established 2 things. 1. I love Mac. 2. I love twitter. Naturally, when these two things mix something wonderful is created. A twitter application for Mac. There are many applcations for Mac and PC. To name a few.. Tweetdeck, Twittelator, Lounge. I have used all 3 of these applications, but I have yet to find one that I thoroughly enjoy.. Then, last week Tweetie came along. I have use Tweetie on my iPhone for months, so I thought it would be awesome on Mac as it is on iPhone.. Boy, was I right! The UI is amazing! It works just like some of the features on the Mac. Here’s an overview and demo of Tweetie for Mac by Jon4Lakers (A popular technology enthusiast).

If you want to download it, you can here: http://www.atebits.com/tweetie-mac/ — It is a piece of free software that I highly recommend! :)

ORAL FIXATION TO AN IPOD

My favourite flickr contact would have to be Powerbooktrance – http://flickr.com/powerbooktrance  – He has an amazing personality, and he always makes me giggle! He’s awesome! Anyway.. I was one day browsing his sets & groups on flickr and I found the ‘Lick My iPod’ group! It was a group in which he started, and he got a few of his friends to lick their ipods to start the group! I thought it was an awesome group so off I went to take my photo, but it was a horrible one from my iPhone camera so I decided to wait until my Nikon arrived.. Then today I took one! Here it is.. Oh, and do you like my new invention? The iRing? lol =D

CRUMPLER NOTEBOOK BAGS

Boo! We meet again! :P

About 3 weeks ago I entered a competition on mactalk.com.au – The competition was – ‘Call us with a story about your Mac that makes us giggle.’
Naturally, I thought of the time when I first went into a cafe with my White Macbook. A transvestite asked me how much my Macbook was for sale for. I said it wasn’t for sale. She(?) then asked me if she fu*&ed me, could she have it for free! My reply was.. No, clearly. Anyway I called them on the Tuesday and then on the Wednesday I got a call from an unknown number. I was wondering who it was and found out it was Anthony Agius, the owner of the site. He had told me that I won the bag and about a week later I got an email from the lovely Natasha asking me for some info to send the bag out to me! Today I got it! I didn’t think I’d get it so soon, but I did! I was wondering what it was that the Fed-Ex delivery guy wanted seen as though I’ve lost track of what I’ve bought online. (My credit card hasn’t lost track though. Damn!!) I opened the big package to find some beautiful clear plastic paper with the crumpler logo on it. I opened up the plastic bag to find my black ‘Part & Pacel’ bag in it! It is an awesome bag! It looks as though the storage has no limits! :P Honestly, the bag feels as thought it’s made out of a nylon material and it just gets bigger and bigger as you stretch it! The bag has so many storage compartments that it’s unbelievable! I am loving it! The only thing that really puzzled me was the bag strap! The strap is strage. It has a clip, which connects to the back of the bag (Look at the photo’s) and it’s annoying adjusting the bag strap! another thing is the amount of Clips on the bag! There are heaps! 3. 3 is not a large number but the velcro is strong enought to keep the bag closed, is there need for an extra 2 clips? Also, there is a clip on the bag strap which attaches to the back of the bag. I have NO idea what it’s for so on the weekend I am going to make my way down to the Crumpler store in Perth! I might even buy myself a camera bag, as I don’t have one for my Nikon yet! Apart from this all is good!! Here are some photo’s of the bag itself. I haven’t worn it so the condition is A+. Also, because I haven’t put all of my gadgets in it as of yet I have no idea how much it can fit, even though the bag looks big… Looks can be deceiving!! :)

Here are some photo’s!
